Her research focusses on the application of advanced statistical methods to cosmic ray and neutrino astrophysics. In particular, she is interested in finding ways to bring together more of the available information from both theory and data to address open questions in the field. The new group will also benefit from the funding of ORIGINS/ODSL and the SFB-1258.
Francesca is from the UK and has a degree in Physics from Imperial College London. Before moving to Munich, she completed a Master thesis at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), worked for a year at the European Space Agency (ESA) and completed her PhD thesis at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
