Candidates are nominated by their PhD supervisor by a nomination letter. The supervisors have to be a member of one of the Cluster partner institutions (TUM, LMU, MPA, MPE, MPP, MPIB, IPP, ESO or LRZ). The PhD theses have to be submitted, reviewed and graded either at the TU München or at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität between 16 July 2021 and 15 July 2022.
The "ORIGINS PhD Awards 2022" are endowed with 2,000 Euros each. The application deadline is 15 July 2022. The awardees are invited to present their award-winning theses during the Science Week 2022 of the Excellence Cluster ORIGINS in Kloster Seeon (28.11. – 01.12.2022)
Application including nomination letter, a pdf of the PhD thesis, and first and second referee letter have to be sent to:
