My background is in observational cosmology and the analysis of cosmic microwave background data. In recent years, I have been trying to (dis)prove the hints of cosmic birefringence seen in WMAP, Planck, and ACT. If confirmed, cosmic birefringence would change our understanding of the fundamental symmetries of nature and provide a potential candidate to explain dark energy and/or dark matter.
