The ORIGINS Cluster of Excellence regularly participates in the "Science for Everyone" lecture series. These typically feature high-profile lectures from the cluster's research area for interested laypeople and experts. Almost all lectures are professionally recorded and can be viewed afterwards on YouTube.

The podcast "Excellent Explained – Cutting-Edge Research for All" regularly reports from one of the 57 Clusters of Excellence funded under the Excellence Strategy of the German Federal and State Governments. The ORIGINS Cluster contributed two episodes:

A virtual journey from Earth to exoplanet Proxima Centauri b

Proxima Centauri, the closest neighboring star to the Sun, is located at a distance of about four light-years from us. The journey, which would actually take about 75,000 years, is depicted in this video in about four minutes. It takes you past our planets, moons, asteroids, and space telescopes to the edge of our solar system and further through interstellar space to the next star system, the exoplanet Proxima Centauri b. – Watch the journey here!

Science Slam of the Exzellence Clusters

Make way for science! At 7 pm on October 17 at Bahnwärter Thiel, the four Munich Excellence Clusters e-conversion, MCQST, ORIGINS, and SyNergy hosted their first-ever Science Slam with great success. Over 300 guests followed the event's motto, "Expect the Unexpected," and flocked to the iconic location in the Schlachthofviertel. Watch it on YouTube.

"Let's play a game! – Who are these women?"

On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2022, the women of the ORIGINS Cluster of Excellence are providing an insight into their lives as scientists. This campaign aims to motivate girls and young women to take an interest in science. After all, there aren't that many women (yet) in mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering. SPACETIME Season 6 & 7

TV documentary series about the universe and the origins of life on Welt TV. Several ORIGINS researchers participated as experts in various episodes of the TV documentary series.
