Exhibition: A journey through time and the cosmos
From 2009 to 2022, the ORIGINS Cluster of Excellence took visitors on a journey through time with its "Evolution of the Universe" exhibition at the Deutsches Museum, beginning 13.8 billion years ago and ending with a glimpse into the future of the universe. Since the end of June 2022, the exhibition ended due to renovation work at the Deutsches Museum. However, you can still experience the exhibition virtually.
Lecture Series: Wissenschaft für jedernamm
The ORIGINS Cluster of Excellence regularly participates in the "Science for Everyone" lecture series. These are high-profile lectures from the cluster's research areas for interested laypeople and experts. Almost all lectures are professionally recorded and can be viewed on YouTube.
Planetarium show: Ausgerechnet! Unser Universum
To visually demonstrate to the public how our universe has evolved from the Big Bang to the present day, researchers from the Universe Cluster of Excellence and its successor ORIGINS created complex and spectacular simulations using the high-performance computer SuperMUC. Together with planetarium specialists from the Deutsches Museum, this resulted in a fulldome show that was shown regularly in the planetarium until 2024 and will be performed again starting in 2029. The show is currently being adapted for the ESO Supernova planetarium and will soon be shown there.
